“I saw the appearance of fire，and it looked like colors of

rainbow and there was brightness round about him.

Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the

day of rain，so was the appearance of the brightness round

about. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of

the Lord.”  ［Ezekiel 1: 27，28］

It is not easy to comment on Mrs.Miura’s stained glass

creations. All of her works are unique and give us quite

different impressions from traditional stained glass. Mrs.

Miura aims at expressing the glory of God for beyond human

intelligence. The prophet Ezekiel tried to describe his

encounter with God with such expressions as “like sapphire，

like the appearance of fire， like the appearance of the

rainbow. “Yet，it was impossible to express the glory of God

through the substances and phenomena in the created world.

Mrs.Miura’s aspiration has been to express the vision of the

glory of God，which she has seen in her own experience of

encountering by means of stained glass，through her sense of

beauty and profound faith. She has been endowed with the

artistic sense of beauty and she developed it through her long

and deep prayer. She has produced remarkable creations in

the field of stained glass. Her ardent wish is that many people

would encounter God through the works.
